For many people, including me, losing weight was a vicious cycle, where you lose weight very quickly, it's painful in the process, and you gain the weight back when you can't take it anymore, then you end up fatter than before.

Mental health is more important than physical health!
The first thing that I'd like to share with you, which is also the most important thing, is that "mental health is more important than physical health".
I began to gain weight since the third grade of primary school. I was a little fat back then, later I became quite chubby. I had a lot of unsuccessful experience of weight loss. I had an experience of weight loss in 2004, at 14, then I tried to lose weight again at 18, but I always got rebound within two years, and got fatter than before. The weight loss experience was the most depressing time of my life. I would feel guilty about eating an apple. I thought I couldn't enjoy life anymore! I couldn't have any delicious food, all I could eat was chicken, broccoli, and oil-free or sugar-free food. My mentality was terrible, so you have to resolve your mental problems first. You have to know if your eating problem results from a mental problem, and then go to solve your physical problem. Don't let your weight loss make you depressed or unhappy.
Don't limit yourself too much during weight loss!
The second thing I'd like to share with you is "Don't limit yourself too much during weight loss!" Like I said before: "I was eating burgers 7 times a week before, and after starting dieting I couldn't eat a single one. From one extreme to the other." Don't classify food into good and bad food, like carbohydrates are bad, vegetables are good. Our bodies need everything, we need carbohydrates, we need oil, we need vegetables, need fiber, we need everything. The point is to keep a balance. Now I'm like this. I eat healthy food 85% of the time, and eat whatever I want three times every week 15% of the time, which is very good for my mental health.
You have to find out your own way of weight loss!
So the last thing I want to share with you is that "fitness and weight loss is a real pitfall, you have to find out your own way of weight loss!". Because you'll find that you'll meet a lot of good people in the process, they'll provide you lots of advices and most of it won't work for you. You have to find a way that suits you, for example I like boxing, then someone told me that boxing was not good for losing weight. Then I was like, why would you say that? I didn't like exercising at all, I was always on the couch, now I finally started to exercise, but you are spreading negativity, just because you think me running or riding a bike is a better way to lose fat. But I'm already doing exercise, so it's great. It's the same with food. Like some people say don't eat avocados during weight loss, don't eat too many eggs, don't eat this, don't eat that. Think about it, though we are eating quite healthy, but some people still pick on us. This is such a big pitfall, you know as long as you eat protein-rich food, eat single ingredients food, have a balanced diet with more fiber, more fruits and vegetables, then you'll have a very big change, try to relax. See if you are in the right direction. And in a few years, these little things won't be important anymore.
Anyway, there's only one rule of weight loss: Calorie deficit.
If you eat 2000 calories a day, but you want to lose weight, you'll have to burn 2300 calories. If you want to maintain your weight, you'll have to burn 2000 calories, that's the balance. Of course you have to eat lots of chicken breast and broccoli to get 2000 calories, but a little burger and fried chicken can reach it. So most of time you should eat low-calorie food, then you'll get full. But you have to know our days on earth is limited, so don't make yourself too tired or too hard, because we will all be gone in the end, so you have to enjoy your life!
